If you’re planning a solo trip to Curaçao and want a mix of adventure, calm, and something totally different—this is the post for you. From underwater thrills to dusty off-road rides, here are some of the best things to do in Curaçao, solo-travel style.
🐢 First, Let’s Talk About the Turtles
If you’ve landed here looking for the sea turtle swim—I got you. It was hands down the most magical part of my trip, and I gave it its own post.👉 [Click here to read]
🌊 Scuba Diving in Curaçao (with Soul Divers)
Let me just say this upfront: scuba diving is not for the faint of heart.
I signed up for a beginner experience with Soul Divers, a local dive school known for patient instructors and chill vibes. It was a 3–4 hour session that included a briefing, shallow water practice, and a guided dive.
We were supposed to go to the famous Tugboat Beach, but the current was too rough. Instead, we went just 5 minutes down the coast to Baya Beach—which had crystal clear water and calm conditions.
What Happened Underwater
Breathing through a regulator is… not natural. I struggled. Like, full-blown panic attack underwater struggled. My brain just couldn’t stop trying to breathe through my nose.
Thankfully, my instructor was amazing—she adjusted the buoyancy for me and stayed close the whole time. We didn’t go super deep, but I did it. And I’m proud of myself, even if I’ll never scuba dive again 😂
Cost: $125 USD
Includes: gear, snack, water, patient angel instructors
Would I do it again? Absolutely not, but that’s a me thing. If you’ve ever wanted to try scuba, this is the place to do it.

ATV Tour with Eric’s ATV Adventures (East Tour)
Looking for adventurous things to do in Curaçao? This is for you.
I booked a half-day ATV East Tour with Eric’s ATV Adventures, and it was one of the best parts of my trip. We hit up:
Boka Grandi (cliffside ocean views and crashing waves)
Ostrich Farm (yes, ostriches… also pigs, goats, peacocks, and a lil café/shop)
Aloe Vera Plantation (a quick drive-through with pretty fields)
We also hiked to a nearby cave I wasn’t prepared for—sneakers recommended. It wasn’t super intense, but some parts required balance and a little faith in your footing.
🧡 Highlights
Wind in your face as you ride through Curaçao’s rugged terrain
Guides were super attentive, gave helping hands during the hike
You get dusty, but it’s worth it
Cost: $118 USD (solo rider)
Includes: water, helmet, ATV, and photos from the tour
Would I do it again? Yes! This was one of the best-value experiences of the trip.
🦇 Hato Caves Tour
This one’s a short stop, but pretty cool. The Hato Caves are near the airport and offer a quick guided walk through limestone chambers, stalactites, and some adorable fruit bats.
Heads up if you’re allergic to bees (like I am): there were a lot of them buzzing around the outside entrance while we waited. None inside though.
Cost: $10 USD entry
Time: ~30 minutes
Would I go again? Honestly no, because of the bees—but the cave itself was nice and the guide was great.
🌸 Make Your Own Perfume at Parfum Lab Curaçao
This was something a little different! At ParfumLab, you can create your own personalized fragrance by blending scents from a curated selection. It’s a calm, creative break from the heat and sand.
The process is guided, and you leave with a custom bottle. I chose the travel-size and added pheromones (👀)—just to make it fun.
Cost: $70 USD
Includes: 1 small perfume bottle + optional pheromones
Would I do it again? Maybe for a girls’ trip, but not solo. Cute, but one-and-done for me.

🌺 Final Thoughts
I did a little of everything on this trip—water, land, and fragrance labs—and I loved the variety. Curaçao might not be the ultimate adventure capital, but it had enough to keep me curious.
My recs?
ATVs for scenic fun
Scuba only if you’re confident in the water
Perfume Lab if you want something girly and different
Turtles — don’t skip it [swimming with turtles in Curaçao]
Still curious if Curaçao is worth the trip? In my final post, I’ll break down what I expected vs what it gave, and whether I’d go back again. Spoiler: it’s giving Arizona... with beaches.
Stay tuned 💻🌴
