Where to Stay in Curaçao (solo travel edition)

San Antonio has its charm, but let’s be real — I was craving sand, sea, and sunrise serenity. I wanted to hear ocean waves, sip something fruity by the water, and just breathe. So I did what anyone would do: I Googled “prettiest beaches near me” and somehow landed on Curaçao.
A week later, I found myself on this dreamy Caribbean island, hopping between three hotels—each with its own vibe. Whether you’re planning a solo trip like me or just want to know where to stay in Curaçao, here’s my honest review.
🌆 1. Saint Tropez Boutique Hotel (Willemstad)
📍 Location & Vibe
Located in the trendy Pietermaai District, this boutique hotel is just a 20-minute drive from the airport and right in the middle of all the action. The area is colorful, walkable, and full of cute cafés, bars, and live music.
The hotel itself sits right on the ocean, with a sleek infinity pool, on-site spa, and two restaurant options. The overall energy is modern and social—definitely a place where you can mingle if you want to.
🛏️ My Experience
I stayed in the Junior Suite Ocean Front, and it did not disappoint. Spacious, clean, and the kind of ocean view that makes you want to throw your phone on airplane mode and just exist. My only issue? Parking. Parallel only—and your girl does not parallel park.
💬 Would I Stay Again?
Yes, especially if I wanted to be closer to city life. It’s great for couples, solo travelers who like activity, or even a girls’ trip.
Solo-Travel Score: 8/10 – Walkable, vibrant, and safe.

🌊 2. Coral Estates Luxury Resort (Willibrordus)
💎 Why It’s My Top Pick
Tucked away about 30 minutes from the airport, Coral Estates is exactly what it sounds like: peaceful, luxe, and surrounded by nature. No crowds. No chaos. Just quiet. This resort also offers car rental services, but I did not rent a vehicle through them.
The resort is fully gated with 24/7 security. You check in at the gate every time, which made me feel so safe as a solo traveler.
🌴 My Stay
I booked the Ocean View Superior Suite – VIP, which came with private access to a pool and oceanside loungers. It was a shared space with other VIP suites, but during my entire stay, I had it completely to myself. Imagine sipping a smoothie, reading a book, and hearing only the waves? Heaven.
There are four main places to eat on the property:
Karakter – beachside restaurant (open all day)
Bread & More – best breakfast smoothies
Pizza & More – casual lunch/dinner
Koraal Rooftop Terrace – great sunset drinks
The resort also offers a spa, diving school, yoga, and small boutiques. You could spend your whole trip here and never get bored—or overwhelmed.
💬 Would I Stay Again?
In a heartbeat. I’ve never felt more relaxed and secure while traveling solo.
Solo-Travel Score: 10/10 – Safe, quiet, beautiful, and completely in line with my soft-travel vibe.
🏖️ 3. Mangrove Beach Corendon Curio by Hilton
🛎️ All-Inclusive… Kind Of
This was the only all-inclusive I stayed at. It has multiple pools, family-friendly vibes, a splash park, and beach access. On paper, it sounds like a dream. In reality, it fell short for me.
🍽️ My Experience
There was no security check when I arrived. The gate was open and the person at the post never once asked for ID—not even once during my stay.
The food was…meh. There’s a small snack table near the lobby with croissants and fruit, but the main buffet meals are only served at certain hours and were always cold. I expected more from a Hilton-branded property.
The rooms are hotel-style (typical of large resorts), which meant I heard doors slamming at all hours. As someone trying to wind down and recharge, that drove me a little crazy.
💬 Would I Stay Again?
No. It might be great for families or larger groups looking for a high-energy environment, but it wasn’t for me.
Solo-Travel Score: 5/10 – Lots of amenities, but poor execution, low food quality, and not great for anyone seeking peace.
📊 Hotel Comparison at a Glance
Hotel | Best For | Vibe | Solo Travel Rating |
Saint Tropez Boutique Hotel | Walkability & nightlife | Stylish & Social | 👍 8/10 |
Coral Estates Luxury Resort | Relaxation & luxury | Peaceful Paradise | ✅ 10/10 |
Mangrove Beach Hilton | Families on a budget | Busy & Noisy | ⚠️ 5/10 |
✈️ Final Thoughts
If you’re planning a solo escape to Curaçao, I can’t recommend Coral Estates enough. It gave me peace, space, and that magical feeling of having a little slice of the ocean all to myself. If you’re into social energy and nightlife, Saint Tropez is also a solid pick—just know it comes with city sounds. Mangrove Beach, unfortunately, missed the mark for me, especially when it came to food and atmosphere.
